“I love St. Augustine”… that’s what you’ll hear from locals and tourists alike. Saint Augustine is all things to all people, there is something for everyone. The oldest city in the nation, brings you rich history and world renowned attractions.
My Nephew Brad at Fort Matanzas
Our historic downtown area, is an attraction all its own. We suggest you take a walking tour, trolley tour or scenic cruise when you arrive to learn about the oldest city’s extensive history. A walk on historic St. George Street is a must. Among the many shops and eateries you will get to experience the beautiful architecture and Coquina courtyards of the past. Be sure to look on our side streets for some of the oldest and most beautiful Coquina walls and iron gates.
St. Augustine has two forts that you should put on your list of things to do. The world famous Castillo de San Marcos in historic downtown and Fort Matanzas out on the island. Fort Matanzas is free to tour and includes a ferry across the water to the fort. Check out this great fly over video of the Castillo de San Marcos.
Spectacular Sunset
We have many museums, art galleries, and concerts to share with you in our city. The first Friday of every month is Art Walk. You can ride the trolley for free and explore the many galleries we have in town. In the summer there is a free concert in the Plaza on Thursdays nights and a free movie night on the bayfront on Wednesday & Friday nights. You can bring a picnic, sit back and relax.
Whether you are a fisherman, kayaker, golfer, paddle boarder, surfer or boater, you will find a place to do it here. We have wonderful charters, tours and rentals to make your stay an incredible experience .
With over 40 miles of pristine beaches, breathtaking sunsets and world-class architecture, St. Augustine has a lot to offer tourists and locals alike. We hope you enjoy your stay and as always, if you have a question you can “Ask a Local,” we will answer your question the best we can within 24 hours.
