Looking for something to do for New Years Eve in Saint Augustine Florida?  The Locals’ Guide to Saint Augustine’s number one pick is always the fireworks at the beach. This year they have expanded the festivities and activities to two days of fun. Don’t worry about parking since  they have shuttles running constantly. After the fireworks stay for the dancing. They have some really great bands to dance to this year. After the event you have plenty of time to get to your next destination to ring in the New Year.
 
 
 
St. Augustine Beach Blast Off 2014  (Dec 16, 2013) -Beach Blast Off, the Annual St. Augustine Beach New Year Celebration, has expanded to a 2- day Block Party taking place December 30 & 31, 2013.

 

 

The kid’s zone is open both days and features 10 huge inflatables, face painting, human hamster balls and more. Special 2-day wristbands for unlimited admission to the kid’s zone are $10 each and can be purchased at St. Augustine Beach City Hall from December 2nd through December 20th.

Parking and a free shuttle service is available both days from 3-11pm.

This year we are doing things bigger and better! Each day from 2pm to 10pm, this family friendly Block Party takes place at the St. Augustine Beach Pier Park. Activities include a Chili Cook-off — a World Championship Qualifier, live music, an exciting kid’s zone, food vendors, and the annual New Year’s Eve fireworks.

 

The Celtic Rock band Seven Nations will be the headline entertainment. Additional performers include Mojo Roux, Those Guys, Falling Bones, Man of Color, Mid Life Crisis, The Big Picture, and Girl on Fire.

 

On the Monday the 30th, the International Chili Society’s Regional Home-style Chili Cook-off Competition will include local and regional challengers. The winner will qualify for the World Chili Cook-off Championships in 2014 and a chance at $25,000 in prizes. Tastes tickets are available at the event.

 

Then on New Year’s Eve, enjoy a full day of live music, plenty of food vendors and activities leading up to the big FIREWORKS DISPLAY to music at 8:30pm. A1A Beach Blvd will be closed from Pope Rd. to 16th street from 3-11pm and dancing in the street is encouraged.

AMERICAN LEGION EVENT

American Legion Post 37, 1 Anderson Circle, will host a prime rib dinner with party favors, a champagne toast and DJ. The event takes place from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. Dec. 31. Cost is $40 per person for the dinner and extras; or $20 for champagne toast and party favors. Tickets can be purchased at the post or by calling 904-824-0680. All proceeds will go to veterans programs.

BALLOON DROP IN PONTE VEDRA

The Cultural Center at Ponte Vedra Beach will host a New Year’s Eve Balloon Drop from 11 to 12 p.m. at 50 Executive Way, Ponte Vedra Beach. Children can snap, crackle and pop in a bubble-wrap room, create a hilarious hat with eyes that wiggle or make party masks. Hundreds of balloons will drop at noon. FLAGLER COLLEGE NEW YEAR’S EVE GALA

 

Ring in the New Year and celebrate 125 years of the Hotel Ponce de Leon with an evening of historic elegance. Flagler College’s New Year’s Eve Gala takes place in the Ponce de Leon Dining Hall from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. Black tie or Great Gatsby Attire. The evening will include cocktail hour, dinner and dessert buffets, open bar, dancing and a champagne toast at midnight. Tickets are $200 per person and benefit the Flagler College Scholarship Fund. MASQUERADE AT THE STANDARD

A night of mystery and intrigue will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 a.m. Dec. 31 during the 2nd Annual Masquerade at The Standard, 200 Anastasia Blvd. The night begins under the stars at an outside bar for preshow cocktails. Next, guests will be ushered inside to receive a mask and instructions for the evening’s festivities. Guests are encouraged to dress in costume, and are asked to stay masked until the midnight hour for the grand unveiling and balloon drop. Photographers will be on hand; please dress to impress.
