As we get closer and closer to Christmas, the amount of wonderful holiday offerings is really expanding. This week is no exception. Check out this list of holiday happenings and if you just want to know who’s playing where, all you have to do scroll down a little bit for our full Local’s Music Line Up.
  Wednesday, December 11, 2013 is the last day at the Pioneer Barn holiday show. Cocktails, dinner, music and dancing. Starts at 6pm. Call for reservations and ticket prices.. 904-824-8874

  Then this weekend, start with Mile Marker Brewing. They are teaming up with First Coast Cares to present “Mile Marker Brewing’s Second Annual Charity Drive with First Coast Cares: Musicians Playing it Forward.” The event is a fundraiser to benefit two local St. Augustine charities: St. Johns Ecumenical Ministries Food Pantry and S.A.F.E. Pet Rescue. The all-day fundraising event will run from 1 to 10 p.m. at Mile Marker Brewing, 3420 Agricultural Center Drive. Local musicians providing entertainment include Amy Hendrickson, Lonesome Bert and the Skinny Lizard, 2/3rds, Brent Byrd, Nathaniel Good, John Dickie, Smokin’ Joe Schauer, Adam Lee, The Rio Grande Band and Matanzas.

The Santa Suits on the Loose 5K is also this Saturday. Okay, not really in the entertainment part of St Augustine, but I have lots of friends who will be running and then popping in for a libation afterwards at a few of our fun pubs or bars in town. So, I guess that actually works. If you see lots of folks dresses like Santa, you’ll know what they’ve been up to. Then on Saturday night is the Regatta of Lights starting at 6:00pm at the bay front. The St. Augustine Amphitheatre is having more fun with the Community First Credit Union’s “A December to Remember” series. Saturday at 2pm they will host a chili cook-off and a movie double feature. The St. Augustine Fire Department Chili Cookoff starts at 2 p.m. The first movie, “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer” starts at 6 p.m.; with “Elf” on screen at 7 p.m. The free event takes place at the Amphitheatre, 1340C A1A South. Sunday offers Holiday Solarium Tea at the newly restored solarium in the Hotel Ponce de Leon (or Flagler College to the locals) go to http://legacy.flagler.edu for more info. Also on Sunday is the St Augustine Lighthouse Sunset/Moonrise celebration at the lighthouse. Advance tickets are required http://www.staugustinelighthouse.org  Tuesday December 17 the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra performs a Holiday Pops concerts, a festive presentation that has become a St. Augustine tradition. Kathleen Madigan “Madigan Again” Over her 25-year career, standup comedian Kathleen Madigan has performed on virtually every late-night television show including Leno, Letterman, Conan and Ferguson. She has starred in two HBO specials, three Comedy Central specials and three CMT “Salute to the Troops” specials with Ron White.. She’ll have two shows at the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall on Friday, December 13.  Shows at 7:30 and 9:30 p.m.
