There is some great music and BEER out there this weekend. This weekend you don’t want to miss John Legend on Friday, Sara Bareilles on Saturday and Fall Out Boy on Sunday at the St Augustine Amphitheatre. And then there is JohnnySwim at Ponte Vedra Concert Hall on Friday. That should be an awesome show! This Saturday is the Beer Truck Wars at Francis Field on West Castillo Dr. in St Augustine. The organizers of this event are expecting more than 30 varieties of beers from many breweries including Kona, Redhook, Stella, Johnny Appleseed, Sweetwater, Bold City and more. There will be music and entertainment as well. There will also be a nice collection of food trucks as well. Tickets are $35 in advance and $45 at the door. There is also special pricing for designated drivers and underage non-drinkers. Your ticket includes unlimited beer samples and a meal voucher that can be redeemed at any of the food trucks. FYI – As with other such festivals in the past it may be a good idea to arrive early. “wink, wink” See you around town! Cheers!

Friday, July 25 – Ponte Vedra Concert Hall – JOHNNYSWIM – Husband and wife duo Amanda Sudano Ramirez and Abner Ramirez make up JOHNNYSWIM. Abner trained as a musician at Douglas Anderson School of the Arts in his native Jacksonville, Florida. Amanda spent summers touring the world as a backing singer for her mother, Donna Summer. The two began writing and singing together in the spring of 2006 in Nashville and found that their similar influences of folk, soul, and rock blended together lusciously. Friday, July 25 – Saint Augustine Amphitheatre – John Legend – A critically acclaimed, multi-award winning, platinum-selling singer-songwriter, Legend sold an impressive seven million albums worldwide. His work has garnered him nine Grammy Awards, three Soul Train Awards, the BET Award for Best New Artist and the special Starlight Award from the Songwriters Hall of Fame. After college, Legend was introduced to then up-and-coming hip-hop artist Kanye West, who quickly signed Legend to his G.O.O.D. Legend’s debut album, Get Lifted, was released in December of 2004 through Columbia Records. The critically acclaimed album spawned the artist’s first hit single, “Ordinary People,” and scored Legend multiple Grammy Awards in 2006, including Best R&B Album, Best New Artist and Best Male R&B Vocal Performance. Saturday, July 26 – Saint Augustine Amphitheatre – Fall Out Boy – SAVE ROCK AND ROLL is the gold certified fifth studio album from the GRAMMY-nominated band Fall Out Boy and features the multiplatinum hit “My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark (Light Em Up)” and the new hit “Alone Together.” SAVE ROCK AND ROLL debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Top 200 and #1 on iTunes in 27 countries when it was released in April. This is the band’s second #1 debut; Platinum selling “Infinity On High” topped the chart in 2007 which followed multi-platinum breakthrough album “From Under The Cork Tree” released in 2005.
